Gold & Greed: The Hunt for Fenn’s Treasure
Meet the director and producer behind this series at Seekers Summit.
What Is Seekers Summit?
Seekers Summit is a two-day convention for anyone who loves the thrill of the hunt — from armchair solvers and field searchers to creators building the next great treasure hunt. You'll compete in a live $10K–$20K treasure hunt, unlock exclusive clues from multiple active hunts, and help set a Guinness World Record.
The lineup spans the full world of treasure hunting: the people who lived the legendary Forrest Fenn search, the Netflix filmmakers who documented it, and the hunt creators driving today's active community. Whether you've been searching for years or just discovered treasure hunting exists, this is the place to be.

The Lineup
Hunt creators, Netflix filmmakers, and the searchers who lived it — together on stage for the first time.
Justin Posey (opens in new window)
Creator, Beyond the Map's Edge
Tucson native who spent ten years hunting the Fenn treasure — then bought the collection at auction and hid his own. His hunt, Beyond the Map's Edge, launched alongside the Netflix series and has drawn over 100,000 active searchers. Spent a decade looking for someone else’s treasure. Decided it was easier to just hide his own.
Chad Bird (opens in new window)
Creator, TREZOR.QUEST
Former Fenn searcher who hid 15,000 crypto coins in a Trezor wallet somewhere in the American Southwest. The hunt is free to play, runs until 2040, and hasn't been solved.
Jared McGilliard (opens in new window)
Director, Gold & Greed
Founder of Nomadica Films, a Seattle-based production company behind a Tribeca Best Documentary winner and a Berlinale-nominated short. He spent two years directing Gold & Greed — the most pitched project in TV and film in the last 20 years. Before that, he embedded with Air Force Pararescuemen in Afghanistan for National Geographic's Inside Combat Rescue, the first time those elite rescue teams ever allowed cameras on their missions.
Katherine LeBlond (opens in new window)
Producer, Gold & Greed
Head of Production at Union Editorial and producer behind multiple Netflix #1 hits. Credits include American Manhunt: OJ Simpson, Sins of Our Mother, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me (97% on Rotten Tomatoes), and House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths. On Gold & Greed, she brought the same approach that had her managing 13,000 pieces of archival footage across four continents on American Manhunt.
Nikoline Bohr (opens in new window)
Treasure Hunter & Metal Detectorist
Danish-born treasure hunter and scientist based in Nantucket. Featured on History's Beyond Oak Island and Discovery's Expedition Unknown. She teaches metal detecting, recovers lost jewelry through the Ring Finders network, and digs up things most people walk right over.
Lou & Sherri Boyer (opens in new window)
Fenn Treasure Searchers & Content Creators
Lou is a 21,000-hour airline pilot who used his navigation skills to hunt the Fenn treasure, dragging his family on expeditions across Yellowstone and the Colorado-New Mexico border. Sherri, a former flight attendant, backed the quest from day one. Featured in Gold & Greed, the Boyers have built a following of over 100K on YouTube documenting their adventures.
Cynthia Meachum (opens in new window)
Fenn Treasure Searcher
Retired Nikon welder who searched for the Fenn treasure over 100 times, converting a room in her house into a war room of maps and theories. Featured in Gold & Greed.
Toby Younis (opens in new window)
Hunt Creator & Intelligence Analyst
Former NSA senior intelligence analyst, decorated Vietnam veteran, and Santa Fe native. Co-created the A Gypsy's Kiss treasure hunt and built a 7,000-subscriber YouTube community around the Fenn search. At Seekers Summit, he'll be presenting on using AI in treasure hunting.
Matt DeMoss
Editor, Beyond the Map's Edge
Enthusiastic treasure hunter whose video channel Smell the Sunshine chronicled the Forrest Fenn search. Matt edited Justin Posey's Beyond the Map's Edge — with the exception of the poem. His only advice for Justin was: "Make it nearly impossible!"
Lyne G. Morissette
Conservation Biologist & Science Communicator
Marine biologist who spent three decades studying endangered species and how they navigate the wilderness. Now equally curious about what happens when humans go BOTG with a clue in hand. Her current research explores large-scale treasure hunts, the outdoor moments they generate, and what they might be quietly shaping in both people and conservation. Fluent in grizzlies — and English, with an accent.

Frequently Asked Questions
Tickets, the hunt, and what to expect.
What is Seekers Summit?
The world's largest treasure hunting convention — two days of panels, live hunts, and real treasure. The lineup includes the cast and crew of Netflix's Gold & Greed, active treasure hunt creators, and veteran Forrest Fenn searchers. There's also a live $10K–$20K treasure hunt, attendance milestones that unlock prizes from active hunts, and a Guinness World Record attempt.
When and where is the event?
March 27–28, 2026 at the Tucson Expo Center (3750 E Irvington Rd, Tucson, AZ 85714). Friday evening runs 7–10 PM. Saturday is 10 AM–6 PM.
How much are tickets?
Adult tickets (21+) are $25 and include eligibility for the live treasure hunt. Under-21 tickets are $15 and include access to all panels, speakers, and milestone giveaways. Both tickets count toward attendance milestones.
What is the live treasure hunt?
A skill-based contest for adult ticket holders (21+) with $10,000–$20,000 in cash prizes. You'll solve clues using strategy, logic, and speed — no luck involved. Complete rules will be published before the event and emailed to registered attendees. See our Legal & Terms page for details.
What are the attendance milestones?
As ticket sales hit specific thresholds (500, 750, 1,000, etc.), new prizes are unlocked for all attendees. These include exclusive clues from active treasure hunts, rare collectibles, and search-area eliminations. The milestone tracker on this page updates as tickets sell.
Is there a Guinness World Record attempt?
Yes. We're going for the Guinness World Record for the largest treasure hunt game. The current record is 1,384 participants, set in Greece in 2017. Every attendee participates in the on-site treasure hunt, which doubles as the official record attempt.
Can I get a refund?
All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued after purchase. Please review our full ticket terms on our Legal & Terms page before purchasing.
Do I need to be 21+ to attend?
No. Anyone can attend with an Under-21 ticket ($15). There is no minimum age. The only restriction is the live treasure hunt, which requires an adult ticket (21+) due to venue and liability requirements.
I’m new to treasure hunting. Is this event for me?
Absolutely. The panels cover everything from how real treasure hunts work to the history behind them. Speakers are available throughout the event for conversations and photos, and the Friday evening mixer is specifically designed for meeting people. You don’t need any experience — just curiosity.
